Here's some news to be announced at next week's meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. Vertex Pharmaceuticals will release mid-stage study results indicating the effectiveness of its experimental drug, telaprevir. This recent study, known as Prove 3, focused on 453 patients who had failed previous treatment with pegylated-interferon and ribavirin.
