I am so tired of having hope only to find that if you are on an HMO you cannot treat because of the high cost. Sometimes I just want to forget about it and allow it to takes it’s course.

I am currently taking treatments with Incivek, Ribavirin, and Pegasys. The side effects are numerous and severe. I have just started my 7th week of treatment and my platelets are low, the viral count has almost been eliminated, and my liver functions have been reduced. So, there is some good news and more bad news. The Doctor has just put me on a weekly blood monitoring schedule. The Incivek portion is only 12 weeks long, and maybe where the bulk of the side effects are coming from. I would hate to be removed now just to have to start over again. Does anyone know the side effects of this new trial treatment?

    • Tincey says:

I too did Peg & Riba got to 4 months, red blood cells droped so had to take shots for that, then white blood cells droped had to that shots for that, but hung in there cause the virus was gone, lost 25 lbs could not eat, started getting rashes and feeling bad. When the DR. saw I was skin and bones he took me off, virus back, weight back, low blood patletes, low thyroid, no energy. But life goes on!
