AbbVie hepatitis C cocktail succeeds in late-stage study

AbbVie Inc said on Wednesday that its hepatitis C cocktail Viekira Pak was effective whether or not it was used in combination with the compound ribavirin against the most common form of the disease, according to data from a late-stage study.
Viekira Pak, a combination of the drugs Viekirax and Exviera, was approved in December for use as both a standalone treatment and in tandem with ribavirin, a broad-spectrum antiviral approved in 1998.

The pharmaceutical companies need to leave ribaviran off their trials. It’s been proven that it causes cancer. By evidence from patients for decades, we know it gives you anemia severely enough for many to stop treatment.
Get rid of Interferon and Ribaviran completely, now!

I just finished a 6 month course of viekira pak with a course of ribavirin, It took about 30 days to clear the hep c virus with both courses. It’s been about 3 months and my viral load is still undetectable. I had to discontinue the ribavirin at 90 days because of severe side effects. I would never put ribavirin in my body ever again.
