Viekira Pak™ (ombitasvir, paritaprevir, and ritonavir tablets; dasabuvir tablets)

What is the dosage for Viekira Pak™?

According to AbbVie, Inc., the developer of Viekira Pak™, two tablets containing ombitasvir, paritaprevir and ritonavir in the morning each day with a meal. Then one tablet of dasabuvir is taken once in the morning and once in the evening with a meal. Whether patients need to take these medications in addition to ribavirin or not, as well as the duration of treatment is dependent on genotype and cirrhosis diagnosis.

Genotype 1a without cirrhosis

• Viekira Pak with Ribavirin for 12 weeks

Genotype 1a with compensated cirrhosis

• Viekira Pak with Ribavirin for 24 weeks**

Genotype 1b with or without compensated cirrhosis

• Viekira Pak for 12 weeks

*AbbVie, Inc. states that a 12 week duration may be considered for some patients based on based on prior treatment history.
