When is Viekira Pak™ contraindicated?
You should not take Viekira Pak™ if you have severe hepatic impairment (due to risk of potential toxicity).
Generally, Viekira Pak™ should not be taken with medicines that are:
- highly dependent on CYP3A clearance.
- strong inducers of CYP3A and CYP2C8.
- strong inhibitors of CYP2C8.

| Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors | Efavirenz |
| Phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) Inhibitors | Sildenafil when dosed as Revatio for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) |
| Sedatives/Hypnotics | Triazolam Orally administered midazolam |
For those that have a known hypersensitivity to ritonavir, Viekira Pak™ is contraindicated.
